Social media has become an essential part of everyone’s life, including all aspects from social and peer interaction, to education and business. Some people love it and some people hate it, or just ignore it. For young generations and teenagers this is their normal.
Growth in the number of people who use social media platforms and the time spent on them has brought a lot of interest and concern among policymakers, teachers, parents, and clinicians about social media's impacts on our lives and psychological well-being.
Nowadays all social media platforms (at least the ones that I have used) offer a mix of personal and business use. Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn were created for personal interaction, but also became a venue for many aspects of business such as marketing and sales.
From a personal perspective, my social media use is limited to Instagram and LinkedIn. I am also a frequent user of YouTube (for all purposes), and Pinterest for home improvement ideas and purchase products.
